Step 4 - Publishing Your Website
Now that you have design and created your website, and chosen an appropriate web host, it is time to upload your website to the world wide web, making it accessible to people worldwide.
The most common method of uploading your website is to use FTP. Dreamweaver allows you to enter the relevant FTP details and then the uploading of your site, and any subsequent amendments, can be done using a single click.
To set up a FTP account in dreamweaver, open Site > Manage Sites > Edit > Next (x 3) > Select FTP > Insert the FTP address, relevant folder to upload files to, FTP username and password
You can then tick the box to enable Dreamweaver to save the details, enabling one click editing.
You can also use the test connection function to test the details have been input correctly.
Once the details have been confirmed as correct, you should save the details by selecting Next (x 2) > Done
To now upload your site, use the Files view in the bottom right corner of the Dreamweaver screen. Firstly, select the left most button, to connect to the web host (ensure you have an internet connection before performing this), then the right most button to synchronise the local files on your computer with the files on your web host.
The window that pops up enables you to see what changes will be made prior to making them, and to confirm you are happy with them.
Good luck with your website.
